Softwashing VS Pressure Washing

Pressure washing uses high PSI to scour surfaces and remove grime.  Softwashing, in contrast, uses a low-pressure pump system in combination with soaps, solutions, and other disinfectants to clean housing structures.

Instead of relying on high pressure to  blast away dirt and grime, softwashing uses a combination of  low-pressure power washing and cleaning solutions to clean surfaces.  These solutions settle in the layers of dirt, eating them away from the  inside. The cleaners then use low-pressure power washers to rinse the  surface.

Benefits of Softwashing:

  • Effective. It combines gentle water with cleaning solutions, so it is very effective and yields long-lasting results.
  • Gentle. It is much better for  delicate structures or surfaces that high-pressure washing can harm.  Soft wash roof cleaning is a common option as high-pressure cleaning can  be bad for roofs.
  • Easy to manage. High-power pressure washers are difficult to operate and can be dangerous if handled incorrectly. It uses low-pressure power washing, making it  easier to control and presenting less risk of injury.
  • Curbs harmful growth. High-pressure power washing may force water into the siding and soffit of your roof. Trapped water may then breed mold and algae growth. Softwashing methods gently clean while not removing bacteria with high pressures, but killing it entirely with higher concentrations of chemicals.
  • Adds Value to Property. Shows ownership pride in your home or business.
  • Increases Life Of Your Roof. Softwashing your asphalt roof can increase it's life by 5+ years.

Benefits of Pressure Washing:

  • Saves time and money in the long run. Who wants to power wash their entire property when a professional can come and do it? By power washing, you avoid the potential risks of having to mitigate bacteria growth, while adding to the curb appeal of your home.
  • Great primer. Cleaning your wooden surfaces preps them for new stain and paint applications.
  • Good for your health. Both pressure washing and softwashing helps remove mold and other bacteria/fungi from your home, keeping you and your loved ones safe.
  • Environmentally-friendly. With less chemicals involved, pressure washing is ideal for concrete and masonry when it comes to getting your surface looking clean and presentable, without the risk of impacting surrounding landscaping
  • Adds Value to Property. Shows ownership pride in your home or business.

What Chemicals Do We Use?

  • Sodium Hypochlorite/Chlorine: We utilize SH for our power washing services. This is heavily diluted with water to anywhere between 2%-6% based on the necessary application and condition of the surface.
  • Surfactants/Soaps: Surfactants are used in order for the water/chemical mixture to "cling" to your surface for a longer period of time. This allows the mixture to more effectively clean and dispose of bacteria/fungus.
  • Neutralizing Agent - Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate: STP is a chlorine neutralizing agent we utilize to protect your property. We will apply this to your gutters and downspouts when cleaning your roof, as well as your landscaping to keep your plants healthy and thriving.

How Do We Protect Your Property?

  • Pre-Rinse/Post Rinse: This will help protect your landscaping and flat surfaces from over-exposure to SH and other chemicals utilized.
  • Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate: When performing roof cleaning and gutter cleaning, we will use a chlorine & bromine neutralizer for you gutters and downspouts. If you have perimeter landscaping, we will also apply the neutralizing agent to your plants, shrubs, flowers, etc.
  • We treat your property like our own
